Ok here is kinda a detail of what you need and how and why to use them (you kinda have to follow this instructions to download from other sites on the web) ^_^.oO( It is normally a 3 step process )
1) Downloading
If its a direct link (that means you click on the link and the download starts immediately and normally its a .rar .zip or .7z file), you can use a download manager to help with the download (so you can resume and it works much better), but using the download manager from your browser works good too.
If its a torrent file (that means you download a .torrent file), you have to use a torrent software to download the file/files, some download managers and browsers can also download torrents.
It its in a file host (that means that it points you to another site, normally a file host site), the file is there, you just need to follow the instructions to download the file (normally it has timers or captchas to solve and unless you know the host and have an account there, just choose normal or free to download) or use a software to download from file hosts.
Software you might need
> Free Download Manager (free software, download manager and bittorrent client) *RECOMMENDED*
> Utorrent (free software, bittorrent client) *RECOMMENDED*
> Littleshoot (online based bittorrent/p2p client)
> Bitlet (online based bittorrent client)
> JDownloader (free software, file host download manager) *RECOMMENDED*
2) Uncompressing/Joining
Some files that come in .zip .rar or .7z are compressed files, that means that the pictures or videos are inside the compressed file (this is done because compressing especially images reduces the total size of the files), so you need to use a software to uncompress the files.
Software you might need
> 7Zip (free, for .rar .zip .7z) *RECOMMENDED*
> Winrar (shareware, for .rar .zip .7z)
3) Watching
Now you got the pictures, well you can watch them with windows or mac or linux picture viewers or with nice software.
For the videos, well there are way more formats and types, so you need to do, 1 of 2 things, or you install a codec pack to have all the codecs and players necessary to watch the videos, or you use a player that has that ability built in.
Software you might need
> K-Lite Codec Pack (free, complete codec pack) *RECOMMENDED*
> CCCP (free, complete codec pack)
> Videolan Player (free, video player with built in codecs) *RECOMMENDED*
If some links are bad or a file is missing from here, just make a search for this software’s name, they are mostly free and easily available online, or well… ask me to check the links, that works too hehehe ohh and if you have a problem using these software’s, then check their own websites and their help files before asking here, they probably explain way better… ok heheh >_<
… more questions or problems please comment away, send me a mail or go to the forum and ask away ^_^’
